Ovations Studios Divisions

Early Childhood (18 mo-5 yrs)

Ovations’ Early Childhood Division provides an introduction to music and dance in a positive classroom environment that fosters creativity, musicality and movement.  Our youngest dancers learn - with a caregiver - how to move in rhythm with music.  As our students grow, they venture into class on their own and can survey a variety of dance forms, including ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and musical theater, and test their voice through vocal lessons.  As students move up to our Academy Division, they have developed foundations in dance technique, postures, positions, terminology, and dance  etiquette.


Academy (5 yrs-18 yrs)

Our Academy Division caters to students from age 6 to 18.  This Division presents a “serious recreational” environment, where students can deepen their skills in any discipline, while enjoying class-time, their relationships with teachers, and close friendships with long-time friends. Students in this division include those who hold dance as a top interest, taking multiple classes per week, as well as students who enjoy dance, but can commit to only one or two classes per week.


The Academy also offers  beginner classes designed for teens and tweens who want to try out dance or a new dance style for the first time.  These  students are grouped with students of similar age and skill.  For boys interested in trying dance, we also offer boys only classes in this Division.


Advanced (12+ yrs)

Classes in this division are designed for the most experienced dancers who have many years of dance experience in specific genres.  Placement into classes in this Division must be approved by a Placement Teacher.  Students taking Ballet classes in this Division are required to take at least two classes per week.  Advanced level classes for Jazz and Lyrical also require students to take at least two classes per week, including a Ballet class.
